Job title: Lead Software Engineer
Office location: Belgrade with Hybrid working
About the role and the Team:
Reporting into the Senior Development Manager, as a Lead Software Engineer you will independently lead projects and tasks and will serve as primary point of contact for technical issues. As a backend Developer you will be experienced with Java and Spring and you will be able to handle the most technically complex tasks and perform troubleshooting at all levels. You will also guide and mentor less experienced team members.
What will you be doing?
- Develop, test and deliver projects and tasks, resolve bugs and investigations.
- Collaborating with project team members, project managers, solution designers, business analysts, QA, business stakeholders and Development team management to ensure projects and tasks are completed on time and up to standards.
- Performing advanced troubleshooting and problem solving when required. Conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing
- Identify areas of possible system improvement for performance, stability, security, and availability
- Guide and mentor less experienced team members
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical developments in the industry
- Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external parties
What we are looking for:
- University level education in computer science or similar development
- Experience with Apache, Tomcat, Kafka and ActiveMQ
- Experience with containerised and cloud deployment (AWS, Google Cloud)
- 5 or more years of software development experience
- Extensive experience with relevant tech stacks
- Team Player
- Advanced database knowledge, relational and/or non-relational (MySQL preferred)
- Linux knowledge (Ubuntu Bash/Shell Scripting)
- Creative, intelligent, analytical, methodical and detail oriented
- Fluent in oral and written English

Ljudi sa malo ili nimalo rezultata bivaju unapređeni i niko zapravo ne zna zašto, što rukovodstvo čini veoma teškim za poštovanje. U proteklih godinu dana i više u sektoru korisničke podrške, sa dolaskom novog šefa podrške i novih operativnih menadžera, stvorena je veoma nezdrava atmosfera u timu. Svako ko iznese kritiku na račun novih inicijativa biva izolovan. Došlo je do toga da se ni tim lideri više ne pitaju za mišljenje — sve odluke donose tri osobe sa veoma ograničenim znanjem i/ili iskustvom u upravljanju. Šef sektora korisničke podrške ima istoriju govorenja negativnih stvari o kolegama nižeg ranga pred drugim zaposlenima, čime podriva autoritet agenata, menadžera i tim lidera. Poznato je oko 10 slučajeva ovakvog ponašanja, ali HR odbija da reaguje dok se ne podnese zvanična tužba za mobing. Šef CS sektora insistira da se razgovori vode iza zatvorenih vrata i bez ikakvog zapisa, verovatno kako bi se zaštitio od mogućih pravnih posledica. Senioritet ti ne donosi nikakva prava. Na godišnjoj evaluaciji možeš da dobiješ povećanje od 0%, bez ikakvog konkretnog objašnjenja. Reći će ti da povratne informacije i pregled plate nisu obavezni. Reći će ti da nisi ključni igrač, ali neće objasniti zašto. Budžeti i benefiti se seku na sve strane, a kruže glasine da će firma uskoro biti prodata. Mnogi su otpušteni i u Srbiji i u Velikoj Britaniji — niko nije siguran.
