Context

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer for AI-based applications, focused on validating the functionality, performance, and scalability of AI models and systems. This role emphasizes designing and implementing automated tests for AI workflows, including model integration, API validation, and backend services. It involves maintaining robust testing frameworks, conducting manual and automated end-to-end tests, and ensuring quality through CI/CD pipelines.

Key competencies include Python proficiency, expertise in testing AI models, experience with performance and load testing, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams such as product managers, data scientists, and engineers. Strong troubleshooting and communication skills are essential.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and implement automated tests to validate the functionality, performance, and scalability of AI.
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts for AI model integration and backend services.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to understand application requirements and ensure the quality of AI-powered features.
• Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies in the AI systems.
• Conduct performance testing and load testing for AI applications to ensure they meet the required standards for scalability and reliability.
• Perform manual and automated end-to-end testing for AI workflows, ensuring smooth integration between models, databases, and application layers.
• Contribute to test planning, strategy, and improvement of testing processes, ensuring continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines are effective.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Quality Assurance and Automation

• Strong experience in QA engineering and automated testing.
• Experience in developing automated tests for backend systems and APIs.
• Familiarity with testing AI models, especially in terms of output validation, performance, accuracy and security

2. Programming

• Proficiency in Python (experience with pytest or equivalent frameworks) for test automation.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and tools like Postman for testing APIs.

3. CI/CD

• Experience with CI/CD concepts and the integration of automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Experience with pre and post-deployment validation to ensure quality at every stage of deployment.

4. Collaboration and Communication

• Strong communication skills to clearly document test results, report bugs, and work with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and suggest solutions.

Hierarchy and interactions:

• The candidate will report to the QA Team Lead.
• The candidate will be working inside of the AI application development team and interact with all its members, including the Product Owner, the Product Manager and the AI Engineering team.
• The candidate will interact also with the Cloud Operations and the Support teams. Typically interacts with other teams including Cloud Operations, Support, Product Management.
