Senior Android Developer - Aktiia team

We at Holycode are currently looking for a Senior Android Developer with strong skills and proven experience to join our Aktiia (Hilo) team here in our Belgrade office.

Aktiia is a venture-backed startup that has developed and brought the world’s first continuous blood pressure monitor to market. Their technology is based on 15 years of research by our founders at the prestigious Swiss research institution, CSEM. Aktiia's solution has been validated through extensive clinical trials and received the CE Mark as a Class IIa medical device giving them access to 43 countries worldwide. To support their accelerating revenue growth and ambitious product roadmap, Aktiia is seeking a Senior Android Developer to join their team.

Main responsibilities:

• Implement new features and maintain existing ones for our Android app.
• Take ownership of specific feature implementations and produce structured, easy to read and efficient code.
• Write unit tests, functional tests and verify your code against defined test cases.
• Writing specification for software for medical devices.
• Participate in code review and ensure timely delivery of high-quality code.
• Discuss possible implementations with other team members and create and maintain the overall design and architecture of our app.
• Estimate development efforts and do sprint planning together with the team.
• Keep track of your work and make sure to follow Aktiia's development process.
• Plan releases together with the team and supports the release of our app on the Google Play Store.

Required competences / education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as an Android developer.
• Experience with Bluetooth, OpenCV, NDK, Camera API
• Functional and automation testing, writing specification and documentation.
• Knowledge of distributed version control systems, like Git.
• Good knowledge about software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Understanding of software development lifecycles in a regulated industry with experience in medical device software development is a big plus.
• Willingness to work flexibly, in an interdisciplinary and international environment, depending on the current project status.
• Strong analytical skills and process-oriented work style with a structured, independent approach to work and focus on getting things done.
• Stress-resistant, even in fast-paced and busy situations.
• Fluency in English (French and other European languages are a plus).
