DevOps Engineer

Join our international DevOps CoE team under the CTO of ASEE and Payten group in Serbia or Macedonia. We’re a remote-first, multinational team focused on innovation, sustainable solutions, and cutting-edge technologies.

The DevOps CoE team ensures reliable software delivery by automating and optimizing the entire pipeline—from CI to continuous deployment—enhancing both developer and customer experience. Our team, a mix of experienced engineers and young talent, lives and breathes Cloud Native, Agile, GitOps, and Continuous Delivery. We're now expanding our platform to support all major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities:

• Developing self-service release platform and tools that enables scaling of our development and delivery teams.
• Helping development teams autonomously make use of the platform to deliver product features at a higher pace, with reduced coordination, using automation wherever possible.
• Ensuring that the release platform pipelines are efficient and highly available, performs consistently and that the infrastructure can scale automatically without any downtime for the customer by making use of the latest tools and technologies
• Making sure our containers are regularly updated and infrastructure as code hardened
• Sharing knowledge and best practices (like Continuous Integration, Delivery and Deployment) to the team and organization to improve delivery, ensure accessibility and improve all aspects of the release platform.
• Supporting the development teams in building highly fault-tolerant, scalable applications.
• Providing feedback to our delivery teams on potential security issues and best practices in the area of cloud-native applications.
• Working with customers on a variety of projects, ensuring their success in deployment of our cloud native applications.

About you

• You have 6+ years of experience in DevOps, software engineering, or Linux system administration
• You demonstrate strong knowledge of Git and version control best practices
• You possess a solid understanding of networking concepts such as the OSI model, DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, SSH, TLS, sockets, and ports
• You bring good knowledge of network infrastructure, including L3/L4 firewalls, WAFs, reverse proxies, and load balancers
• You have extensive hands-on experience working with Linux servers and command-line tools
• You show proficiency in scripting in Bash or PowerShell
• You have strong practical experience working with Docker
• You exhibit solid knowledge of of YAML for configuration and automation
• You hold hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines, GitLab, or Jenkins
• You have a good understanding of the full software development lifecycle and prior experience in software development
• You have a solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture and container orchestration concepts, including manifests, desired state, networking, and high availability setups

Nice to have

• Good knowledge of one programming language such as Python, Golang (reading, preferably writing as well)
• Working hands-on experience with at least one public cloud platform (AWS, GCP or Azure)
• Working hands-on experience with message brokers (Kafka, RedPanda, NATS, Apache Pulsar or similar)
• Working hands-on experience with K8S package managers such as HELM and good understanding of Go templatesWorking hands-on experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools for automated infrastructure management (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation or similar)
• Good understanding how advanced authentication concepts work (SSO, federated authentication, MFA, Kerberos, etc.)
• Good understanding how TLS and mutual TLS authentication and X.509 certificates work
