Position Overview
The SAP & EDI Analyst is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the organization’s SAP systems and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes. This role acts as the technical and functional liaison between internal business teams, external trading partners, and IT to ensure accurate, reliable, and efficient data exchange across the supply chain, finance, logistics, and procurement functions.
Key Responsibilities
- SAP Support & Configuration
- Configure, support, and troubleshoot SAP modules (such as SD, MM, PP, FI, and WM).
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional SAP specifications.
- Support SAP master data, transactional processes, and integration points.
- Participate in system enhancements, testing, upgrades, and patching activities.
- Create functional documentation, test scripts, and process flow diagrams.
- EDI Management
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain EDI transactions (e.g., 850, 810, 856, 940, 945, etc.) that integrate with the two ERP systems at ND Paper (SAP and KiwiPlan).
- Work with trading partners, VANs, and third-party providers to resolve mapping issues and communication failures.
- Configure, test, and onboard new EDI trading partners.
- Ensure EDI data accuracy and resolve discrepancies impacting orders, invoices, shipments, or inventory.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with business stakeholders (customer service, logistics, procurement, finance, IT) to identify and implement process improvements.
- Provide end-user support and training for SAP and EDI processes.
- Partner with development teams on interface enhancements and integration changes.
- Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze system performance and recommend improvements to increase automation and reduce manual effort.
- Assist with reporting, KPIs, and data validation across SAP and EDI systems.
- Maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and partner integrations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: A minimum of 2-5 years of hands-on SAP ECC functional experience (SD/MM/PP/FI/WM) to include Idocs.
- Strong understanding of EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT) and transaction mapping.
- Experience with EDI tools or middleware (e.g., SPS, OpenText, Cleo).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
