About the role
This is a remote full-time position based in Serbia, with working hours 10am-6pm CET Monday to Friday. Based on the nature of the role, we are looking for someone who is flexible depending on business needs.
An exciting role for an experienced website developer within a progressive, rapidly growing company in the early years education sector in the UK. Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager (UK based) and playing a key role in the Marketing team. Following art and brand direction from the Senior Marketing Manager and Creative Studio, and working alongside the Digital Marketing Analyst, this role combines designing, coding, and modifying the brand’s parent and careers websites from layout to function, as well as having a laser eye on the UX journey.

Specific duties and responsibilities:
- Website development: design and implement responsive, high-performing websites and web applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies.
- Website maintenance: regularly update, maintain, and troubleshoot issues across both websites to ensure optimal functionality.
- UI/UX design collaboration: work closely with the Creative Studio to translate designs into interactive, high-quality web interfaces that offer great user experiences.
- Content integration: integrate dynamic content such as multimedia, e-commerce features, and interactive modules.
- Performance optimization: optimise web applications for maximum speed, scalability, and SEO performance.
- Security: implement appropriate security measures and best practices to safeguard websites from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Cross-browser testing: ensure web pages are compatible with multiple browsers and devices.
- Technical support: provide ongoing support and technical expertise to the internal teams for troubleshooting and improving web-related processes.
- Collaboration: work closely with Brand Marketing, Admissions and Property teams to meet business objectives and enhance user experience.
- Documentation: create and maintain detailed documentation for code, processes, and development procedures.
- Responsible for always adhering to the company's H&S policy: “Statement of Intent"
Work experience requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in web development, preferably in an in-house or agency setting.
- Proficiency in:
- Front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, etc
- Back-end development: PHP, Node.js, Ruby, Python, etc
- CMS platforms: WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, or custom CMS
- Database management: MySQL, SQL, or other relevant databases
- Version control systems like Git
- SEO knowledge: familiarity with SEO principles and their application in web development.
- Cross-platform development: experience in developing responsive, mobile-first web designs.
- Debugging skills: strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities to fix bugs and improve user experience.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, WordPress)
- Experience in web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG)
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)

- Creative and analytical thinking: ability to translate business needs into functional and appealing web solutions.
