What you’ll do
Devtech is looking for a Senior UX Designer to join our UX team. You will be tasked with client and product team communication and strategic planning of our digital projects. You will take part in defining and shaping digital solutions by delivering user-centered designs in support of web, mobile web, and mobile application experiences.
- Understand business requirements and any technical limitations.
- Collaborate and develop relationships with the clients to understand business requirements and design complete user experiences that meet clients' needs and vision.
- Translate customer journeys and user flows into wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences, optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
- Produce concepts using design tools (e.g., storyboards, wireframes, and interactive prototypes) that help stakeholders envision proposed user experiences.
- Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
- Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new functions and features.
- Collaborate with product teams to incorporate a user-centered design process into their development lifecycle.
- Work with architects and developers to ensure that designs can be implemented using our UI technology framework.
- Engage in UI testing to ensure builds and releases match the design specification supplied.
- Establish user groups, user testing processes, and regular feedback mechanisms.
- Plan when usability testing is appropriate and create effective tests.
What you'll need
- 6+ years of relevant UX design experience
- Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design
- Knowledgeable about UX research processes and methods, knows what answers they provide and how it’s done so you can incorporate it in UX design
- Knowledgeable about UI design processes and principles, knows how it’s done so you can incorporate it in UX design
- Able to analyze clients’ requirements and their target audiences before designing
- Able to prioritize and direct how teams understand users, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create innovative solutions to prototype and test
- Able to communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions clearly and effectively to teams and clients
- Able to design information architecture according to business goals, including the ability to determine necessary elements, sequence, and categories
- Capable of designing complex prototypes - but more importantly: knows when to do a simpler prototype and avoid building something complex
- Knows which kind of testing suits the purpose (formative, summative; attitudinal, behavioral), and what methods best serves the requirements given the circumstances
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Understand the basics of languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Strong portfolio or examples of previous work
