Position Summary:

The Global Enablement Team is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to lead our public documentation initiatives. The role involves meticulous organizing, updating, and enhancing the resources available to assist developers in navigating Platform.sh and Upsun effectively. The role reports to the Director of Global Enablement.

The hours for the role are flexible, but should ideally have some overlap with CET timezone.

What to expect:

• Core Projects: Craft tutorials, reference materials, and how-to guides to facilitate developers in effectively using Platform.sh and Upsun.
• Daily Responsibilities: Prioritize the refinement of documentation by evaluating user feedback, monitoring document performance, and making strategic updates to maximize clarity and engagement.
• Team Collaboration: Engage with our Technical, Product, and Support teams to ensure our documentation reflects the latest product features and best practices.
• Challenges and Solutions: Initiate discussions with the team to identify and implement innovative solutions for documentation challenges, improving efficiency and effectiveness.
• Innovation and Impact: Be the primary point of contact for documentation issues, driving improvements that contribute to user experience and product understanding.

What you bring:

• A caring frame of mind and an empathetic spirit. The ability to think from other perspectives is a tool we ask of all employees. This is especially important in this role as you will need to think through the mindset of our users.
• 5+ years technical writing experience in tech environments, with proven skills in creating clear, comprehensive documentation and docs-as-code via Git workflows.
• Experience with programming languages and the ability to understand the structure of code and data files like YAML. Familiarity with using the command line is expected.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects from start to finish, prioritizing tasks, adhering to deadlines, and effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams in an async environment.
• Exceptional attention to the organization, structure, and detail of documents and document sections, ensuring clarity and consistency across all materials.
• The ability to distill complex technical concepts into simple, user-friendly content. Experience with user research and leveraging data to enhance documentation quality and relevance.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information clearly to various audiences. Strong editing and proofreading abilities to ensure high-quality documentation.
