About the team
The Capital Markets Data Team is a new CoE in Capital markets responsible for defining/validating/enabling the Capital Markets Data Strategy.
The team will work cross product and business line to enable the next generation cloud native data platform. The team makes use of the latest technologies and development methodologies and values communications, contribution, integrity, a can-do mindset, fun, and a relentless focus on results.

What you will be doing
You will be working with the Technical Strategy Director on creating/validating/implementing the Capital Markets Data Platform Strategy.
Working with individual lines of business and product lines so they can align and adop the new platform.
You will need to be a great communicator dealing working through low level detailed issues with developers up to communication strategy with senior business leaders.
You will be working with other data focused teams across FIS, to leverage the best skills for the problem at hand.
- Document and publish appropriate data architecture principles and standards, position papers, blueprints, best practices, patterns and frameworks
- Collaborate with business and data SMEs to profile source system data and perform logical mapping of source data through the rationalization of the information value chain, based on the business requirements
- Design and oversee implementation of end-to-end data integrated systems
- Partner with the Enterprise Data organization
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the organization's technologies and architectures
- Perform annual data architectural maturity assessments
- Develop and communicate enterprise data technology standards and policies
- Initiate and deliver technology evaluations and recommendations to advance how FIS uses, secures, governs, stores and distributes data
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Post-graduate education desired.
- Deep understanding and experience in data pipelines including:
- Data Warehousing (ideally cloud native technologies)
- Data Modelling
- Data Integration ( modern tooling, apis and streaming )
- Business Intelligence & Data Visualisation
- Data Products
- Knowledge of or experience with modern cloud-based technologies such as AWS and Azure, or similar
- Knowledge of or experience with modern Big Data-based technologies such as Hadoop, Apache Spark, or similar
- At least 1 year of experience leading a data architecture team of 5 or more, experience building a team from the ground up is preferred
- At least 1 year of people management experience
Added bonus if you have:
- Knowledge of or experience with data management tools such as Collibra, Informatica
- Knowledge of or experience in API development using languages such as Java, Groovy
- Knowledge of or experience in BPMN and or workflow development
- Knowledge of data science platforms such as Databricks, Zeppelin, Juypter, or Domino
