Position Summary:

Platform.sh in search of a dynamic Senior Cloud Software Engineer to join our Engineering team! Dive into a pivotal role where you'll leverage your expertise in Python or Go, complemented by a solid understanding of Linux systems, to navigate the intricacies of building resilient, distributed systems.

What to expect:

• Maintain and own our orchestration engine.
• Update applications and set up development environments seamlessly with a Git push.
• Manage diverse container images across multiple cloud platforms.
• Increase container density continuously.
• Implement a fast, resilient, and cost-optimized observability framework.
• Support applications in various programming languages.
• Explore new areas including auto-healing, performance optimization, and feature enhancements.

What you bring:

• A strong foundation in Software Engineering domains and proficiency in Python or Go.
• Strong proficiency in containerization technologies.
• Solid understanding of Linux (preferably Debian-based).
• Ability to effectively manage cloud-based infrastructure, with experience across multiple Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) providers.
• Familiarity with database systems and distributed systems.
• Understanding of kernel-based Virtual Machines.

Nice to have:

• Strong knowledge of Git.
• Networking background.
• Understanding of security and cryptography.
• Experience with various programming languages including C/C++
• Understanding of web technologies.
