We are looking for a strong independent hands-on DevOps engineer to join our Advance Professional Services team to lead the post-sales projects and improve the company’s performance and optimization capabilities. The responsibilities of this crucial engineering position are to migrate customers from other database platforms into Scylla, build and manage automation, deliver and manage customized solutions, deploy pilots, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Mastering the NoSQL & SQL database market
- Support Proof-of-Concept, pilots, and onboarding projects
- Delivering and building capabilities of data migration from any database platform into ScyllaDB.
- Appling and redesigning data modeling, performance optimization, scalability, and security best practices.
- Design and deploy automation, monitoring, maintaining, and managing cloud-based production systems.
- Managing projects, providing design guidelines, and working closely with R&D Engineering teams.
- System troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Create, integrate, and document 3rd parties’ tools with ScyllaDB products.
- Train ScyllaDB customers, create and deliver training material for ScyllaDB users.
- Community Support - Provide recommendations, tips, and answers to Scylla users through social media and open technical forums.
Requirements
- 4+ years of system operations on Linux
- Work experience in cloud environments like AWS, GCP, Azure
- 3+ years of NoSQL database deployment/management/data modeling is highly desired
- Experience in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks e.g. experience with Jenkins, Gitlab
- Proven programming experience in Java, Python, and Bash scripting tools
- Cross-platform automation and Infrastructure tools e.g. Ansible and Terraform.
- Container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Knowledge and experience in data migration tools such as Spark
- Reporting and visualization tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, and Kibana.
- Proven ability to understand deep and complex technologies.
- Undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science, or similar
- Outstanding English communication skills – written and verbal
- Well organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work effectively both autonomously and in teams
