Power BI Specialist

GeminiSix is focused on helping businesses correctly manage their Software Assets and Licenses throughout their entire life cycle. Our services help to protect our client’s software investments and help them recognize what they have, where it’s running, and if their assets are used efficiently. Our goal is to reduce information technology costs and limit business and legal risks related to the ownership and use of software, while maximizing IT responsiveness and end-user productivity. Most of the work would be done remotely from the headquarters in Belgrade including short trips abroad for training and work on specific projects

Role Summary

The Power BI Specialist designs, develops, and maintains Business Intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. This role transforms complex business data into clear, actionable insights by creating scalable data models, interactive dashboards, and automated reports. Working closely with stakeholders, the Power BI Specialist delivers reporting solutions that support informed decision-making, improve business visibility, and drive operational efficiency.
In a Software Asset Management (SAM) environment, the role enables organizations to monitor software usage, support license compliance, and optimize software investments through data analytics and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
Gather business requirements and translate them into reporting solutions.
Build and optimise data models, DAX measures, and KPIs.
Transform and prepare data using Power Query, SQL, and ETL processes.
Connect Power BI to multiple data sources, including SQL Server, Azure, SharePoint, Excel, and REST APIs.
Optimise report performance, datasets, and scheduled refreshes.
Manage Power BI workspaces, deployments, and user security (RLS).
Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver business insights.
Create technical documentation and provide user training.
Troubleshoot reporting issues and continuously improve BI solutions.
Ensure reporting follows data governance and visualisation best practices.

Experience

2+ years of hands-on experience developing Power BI solutions.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience working with enterprise data warehouses and multiple data sources.
Proven experience creating executive dashboards and operational reporting.
Experience with large datasets and performance optimization.
Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300)
Understanding of Software Asset Management (SAM) principles, including software licensing, compliance, and optimization.
Microsoft Fabric certification (preferred)
Azure certifications (preferred)
