Part-Time Senior Solution Architect, AWS Migration

We are looking for a Senior Solution Architect to design the path forward for our migration program. You will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and engineering teams, defining how workloads move from on-premise to the cloud.

This role encompasses two critical architectural functions:

1. Application Modernization: Designing specific migration solutions (HLD/LLD) for complex Tier 1 banking applications, selecting patterns for refactoring and replatforming.
2. Platform & Standards: Defining the overall "rules of the road," including reference architectures, security guardrails, and templates that enable the wider migration team.

Location & Contract Type

Location: Remote position open to candidates in the Europe.

Contract Type: This position is open for candidates interested in Business-to-Business (B2B) contract position in countries in Europe. Please note this is a contract role for approximately 3 years, part-time.

What Will You Do?

• Design migration solutions for complex applications and produce architecture documentation (HLD/LLD).
• Lead technology selection for refactor/replatform scenarios and database modernizations.
• Define and maintain technical standards, best practices, and reusable templates (IaC, landing zone patterns) for the wider program.
• Work directly with application owners and business stakeholders to align technical designs with business goals.
• Ensure all designs comply with security guardrails and regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR).

What You Bring

• 8+ years in solution architecture with 5+ years specifically in AWS cloud architecture.
• Experience modernizing legacy Windows/Linux workloads from VMware into AWS.
• Strong background in database/data-platform architecture (Oracle, SQL Server) and integration architecture (APIs, ETL).
• Experience with enterprise governance, security architecture, and regulatory compliance.
• AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification.
