Job Description
The ideal candidate enjoys and thrives in working with a variety of tools, languages, systems and architectures while building scalable services and platforms to power current and future products.
- Be part of an engineering team that builds and supports amazing customer-facing products that provide innovative solutions to challenging programming and design problems
- Design, develop and implement changes and enhancements on PHP based eCommerce platform, providing awesome user experiences in desktop and mobile devices
- Perform a mix of front-end and back-end development on new and existing Magento eCommerce sites
- Develop new features and integrations, and custom extensions
- Migrate live Magento 1 projects to Magento 2
- Integrate PHP solutions with other third-party systems
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, QE/QA and other Zilker teams and business units to define, prioritize, sequence and scope business and functional requirements and drive results forward
- Accurately scope effort, identify risks and clearly communicate trade-offs with team members and other stakeholders
- Stay aware of industry trends and make technology choices and strategic decisions
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in PHP development
- Proficient with PHP 5, HTML/CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, MySQL
- Knowledge of data structures and understanding of database transactions
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GIT
- Ability to understand requirements and map to technical implementation
- Expertise in Software Design and Architecture
- Scrum, Agile Process, Unit Testing & Test-Driven Development
- Strong initiative, commitment, and a positive, "whatever" it takes, attitude
- Experience working in Agile scrum development team

- Experience in Magento 2 development
- Magento 1 to Magento 2 migration experience
