Collaboration Overview

Duelbits is seeking to collaborate with a Mid-level Full Stack Developer who is ready to take ownership of meaningful features and services while continuing to deepen their technical expertise.

As a Service Provider, you will work closely with Duelbits’ Lead Developers and cross-functional contributors, delivering frontend and backend functionality across our core platforms. This role is suited to developers who are comfortable working independently on defined scopes, while still actively collaborating, asking questions, and contributing to technical discussions.

This is a growth-oriented collaboration where autonomy, accountability, and a strong engineering mindset are essential.

Technology Ecosystem

You will collaborate within a modern technical environment that includes:

• Backend: NestJS, TypeScript, Node.js, Python
• Frontend: React, Angular
• Data & Infrastructure: DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis
• Platform & Tooling: Docker, Cloudflare

Experience with these technologies is beneficial, but strong fundamentals, clean coding practices, and the ability to learn quickly are equally important.

Scope of Services & Responsibilities

As a Mid-level Full Stack Developer, you will be expected to:

System Understanding & Ownership

• Develop a solid understanding of relevant systems, services, architecture, and data flows.
• Take ownership of small to medium features, services, or components from development through deployment.
• Identify technical debt or improvement opportunities within your areas of responsibility and propose actionable solutions.

Software Development & Collaboration

• Implement frontend and backend features aligned with product requirements and technical standards.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA Engineers, and other developers to deliver well-defined, user-focused functionality.
• Participate in story refinement, estimation, and planning discussions, contributing realistic implementation insights.
• Proactively resolve blockers and communicate progress clearly within a remote environment.

Code Quality & Testing

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code.
• Create and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure reliability and coverage.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and incorporating review comments into your own work.
• Ensure contributions meet functional and non-functional expectations, including performance, security, and reliability.

Documentation & Knowledge Contribution

• Contribute to internal documentation covering features, systems, or workflows.
• Ensure delivered work is documented clearly to support long-term maintainability.
• Participate in demos, technical discussions, or knowledge-sharing sessions when requested.

Professional Growth

• Demonstrate increasing autonomy, accountability, and technical confidence.
• Actively develop full-stack skills and apply best practices that benefit the wider engineering organisation.
• Support other contributors informally through collaboration and knowledge sharing when appropriate.

Required Capabilities

The following capabilities are imperative for this collaboration:

• Solid experience working as a Full Stack Developer in a production environment.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend and one frontend technology.
• Good understanding of APIs, data modelling, and web application fundamentals.
• Ability to work independently on defined scopes while collaborating effectively with others.
• Good English communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
• Ability to operate within a remote, fast-changing environment.
• Enthusiasm for software development, gaming, or sports (all three is a bonus).
• Based within Europe or within the timezone range UTC -1 to UTC +3 to ensure effective collaboration.
