Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Application Analyst is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and continuously improving manufacturing applications and related technologies used by Operations, Engineering, Quality, and technical teams across the organization. This role provides day-to-day application support, troubleshooting, user assistance, training, and documentation for systems including manufacturing execution systems (MES), data historians, quality management systems, operational reporting platforms, and related manufacturing technologies.
The analyst works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Process Control, and IT teams to resolve issues, implement enhancements, improve user adoption, and ensure reliable operation of critical manufacturing systems. This position will develop expertise in assigned application areas and serve as a key support resource for users and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Application Support
- Provide day-to-day support for manufacturing applications including MES, data historians, quality systems, operational reporting platforms, and related manufacturing technologies.
- Troubleshoot application, integration, data, and user issues to minimize operational disruptions.
- Monitor application performance and coordinate resolution of system issues.
- Escalate and coordinate complex issues with vendors and internal technical teams.
User Support & Training
- Respond to support requests and assist users with application functionality and best practices.
- Deliver user training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Create and maintain application documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles.
- Promote user adoption and effective utilization of supported applications.
Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Process Control teams to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Assist with implementation of application enhancements and system upgrades.
- Participate in testing, validation, and deployment activities.
- Recommend improvements that increase the value and effectiveness of manufacturing technologies.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Maintain support procedures and technical documentation.
- Document recurring issues and develop standardized solutions.
- Support knowledge transfer initiatives within the Manufacturing Applications team.
- Contribute to long-term sustainability of supported systems.
Collaboration
- Work closely with manufacturing personnel, engineers, process control specialists, and technical teams.
- Coordinate activities with vendors and third-party support partners.
- Participate in project initiatives involving manufacturing technologies and data systems.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience supporting business or manufacturing applications preferred.
- Experience providing user support, troubleshooting, and application administration.
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred but not required.
- Fluent English communication skills.
Technical Skills
- Understanding of manufacturing systems and business applications.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following:
- Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
- Data Historians
- Quality Management Systems
- Reporting and Business Intelligence platforms
- SQL databases
- Data integration technologies
- Ability to troubleshoot application and data issues.
- Experience with documentation and process management.
