What you’ll do:
- Manage a team of 6-7 game developers
- Have weekly meetings with Reno, NV team that may fall outside of normal working hours
- Interface with our internal/external customers to understand requirements, set priorities, and communicate direction and progress
- Ensures game projects meet jurisdictional requirements and quality standard
- Manage and execute against project plans and deliver commitments within a professional, high paced engineering environment
- Works closely with Test Team and providing input around test strategies/plans and identifying areas of risk
- Clearly communicates technical issues, impacts and risks to supervisors and upper management
- Always be on the lookout for opportunities to schedule training sessions to better your team
- Continuously initiates and propose new processes to improve project quality and productivity
- Provides team members with constructive feedback on a regular basis
- Provides guidance to team members on company policies and best practices
- Recruit, hire, mentor, and coach game developers at different levels of experience
- Provide clear, accurate, and prompt responses to gaming regulators, field issues and Independent Test Lab findings
- Align team goals with studio goals and objectives
Must-haves:
- 2+ years of people management experience, managing software engineers
- Demonstrates an ability to work effectively in a remote/asynchronous environment
- Strong communication skills with ability to listen well, negotiate, motivate, delegate, and have patience to support personnel with openness to communicate daily
- Ability to build strong relationships with diverse teams within an organization
- Effective multitasking – prioritize and progress multiple initiatives and efforts simultaneously
Nice to have:
- Knowledge and experience in C#, Object-Oriented Programming, Unity
- Working knowledge of version control systems
- Specialty market experience
The way we work:
One developer codes one game from beginning to end. Project duration for game development can be anywhere from 3 weeks (short) to 6 months (long). You will be leading a small development team cooperating with more experienced Game developers, Game designers, Graphic artists, Mathematicians and Test Engineers, in a good working atmosphere.
