We are a one-stop multi-brand online shop for anything hemp and cannabis. We launched our activities in 2018 in Switzerland (uweed.ch) and after reaching 7-digit sales in 2021, worked on expansion to several EU markets from January 2023. In order to support our EU expansion, we are looking for a talented Junior Woocommerce Developer to join our team and help drive our ecommerce platform to new heights.

Role Overview

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our development team to create, modify, and optimize our eCommerce platform.
- Develop custom plugins and themes for WooCommerce as per the company's requirements.
- Debug issues, troubleshoot user problems, and provide timely responses to project leaders and team members.
- Enhancing platform performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of new features and enhancements.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of code and system configurations.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in WooCommerce, PHP, and other relevant technologies.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equal experience.
- Proficiency in PHP and experience with the Wordpress and WooCommerce platform.
- Good understanding of HTML/CSS and responsive design principles.
- Familiarity with MySQL database design, optimization, and management.
- Experience with caching utilising Redis or other caching services.
- Strong understanding of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive design.
- Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience with cloud services, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Exposure to other e-commerce platforms or systems.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
