About the role
The Client Services Consultant takes responsibility for the support of the live software systems for one or more FIS clients. Working with team members from a variety of groups within the organization, the Client Services Consultant is responsible for processing Client requests and issues in a timely manner. The Client Services Consultant has the responsibility to build and maintain the day-to-day Client relationship by means of daily interactions and participation in planning of the Risk Infrastructure work with the client.
The job involves owning and maintaining processes and data structures on live servers, researching and replicating software and hardware issues, implementing workarounds and driving issue resolution. The tasks involve general Windows administration, database configuration, scripting and general problem-solving techniques. The work also involves documenting findings and resolutions and communicating them to our clients.
The role involves occasional travel.
What you will be doing
- Work with the Client and FIS application consultants to plan software releases from inception to deployment
- Research and replication of software and hardware issues
- Determine workarounds and issue resolution
- This will require a detailed analysis of the business user requirements and workflow processes.
- Collection and analysis of stats and data relating to performance
- Build and maintain a good relationship with the Clients’ teams
What you bring
- M Sc. in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering and Management or similar engineering degree.
- Experience of supporting live systems or other experience of working with and troubleshooting software in a business setting
- Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word (Advanced level)
- SQL Server
- Strong mathematical background, including basic statistical analysis (Mean, Standard Deviation)
- Communication, client focus, planning, prioritizing and organization of work
- Fluent in spoken and written English
Added bonus if you have experience with
- Financial markets knowledge (especially Credit and/or market risk)
- Experience of network support and troubleshooting, multi-server distributed systems
- Microsoft IIS, Sybase/Oracle, XML
- Web, VBA or Script Programming
- Active Directory
