Intermediate QA Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:
Katipult’s QA Team is looking for an Intermediate QA Analyst. The successful applicant will know how to work effectively with a continuous integration system, and will provide insight on the best methods to execute clear testing procedures within the company.
The Analyst will be responsible for QA testing as part of a QA team and cooperate with developers in order to improve or create solutions and processes that increase the quality of our product. This position will be working in an environment where quality is the responsibility of everyone within the organization.
This is a remote position working with a team that is distributed between Europe and North America.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the QA team and other stakeholders to continually improve overall QA related processes, tools, and workflows
- Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
- Work within an agile development team to estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
- Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
- Work with stakeholders to diagnose, triage, and prioritize customer field issues
- Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
- Monitor debugging process results
- Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
- Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
- Work with development and automation QA to design, develop and execute a suite of automation scripts as appropriate

REQUIREMENTS:
- Deep understanding of the software development and QA life cycle processes (including test planning, test case design, execution, defect tracking and reporting)
- Proven work experience in software quality assurance
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
- Prior experience driving issue resolutions with development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact across all levels from junior members to senior management
- Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive software defect reports as Jira tickets
- Hands-on experience with testing on cloud-based software with multiple browsers, operating systems, and devices
- Some understanding of programming for the web and basic web security
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system.
- Adaptive, flexible and comfortable working in a matrix environment as a team member or an individual contributor.
- Quick learner and self starter who requires minimal supervision to excel in a dynamic environment
- 3-5 years of experience software QA
