The IT Systems Engineer will report to the Director of Engineering and with the IT team in the USA for infrastructure standards and project-based work. They will play a significant role in supporting, implementing, securing, configuring, monitoring, and the maintenance of enterprise systems and services. The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment that is goal-oriented and emphasizes accountability for delivering results.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance and configuration of computer systems and networks
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics
- Replacing and upgrading defective or outdated hardware when necessary
- Install and upgrade computer software – device imaging
- Server as a technical escalation point
- Maintenance of branch office VPN gateway and network infrastructure
- Monitoring LAN system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely
- Installing and maintaining anti-virus protection
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure and virtualized systems
- Equipment procurement, service, and replacement
- Tracking IT equipment from ordering to delivery and internally
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Minimum high school or university degree in computer science or electrical engineering
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in the same or similar roles
- Knowledge of computer systems and networking software, hardware, applications, and networking protocols
- Experience with networks (LAN, WAN), network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, VPNs...)
- Experience managing AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP
- Experience with Azure cloud services
- Working knowledge of VMware vSphere
- Previous working experience in Windows/Linux OS
- Desired certificates: MTCNA, CCNA, MCSA
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
