You will collaborate with team members to enhance and maintain user-friendly web applications for The U.S. Geological Survey and The National Map, directly impacting how communities, educational institutions, and government agencies access vital geographic data. You will work extensively with React.JS and Javascript to improve functionality and presentation, ensuring that our tools are effective and visually engaging for users.
Your daily activities will include a focus on public-facing content, applications, and tools with intuitive features to facilitate a user-centric customer experience. You will develop and refine scripted processes that streamline data handling, allowing us to deliver accurate and timely information to the public. Documenting your workflows will play a vital role in contributing to a collaborative and supportive environment with an emphasis on developing your own personal skills and qualifications over time.

Qualifications:
- Must hold bachelor’s degree in a content related field.
- Must have 5 or more years of experience in dynamic front-end systems development with a focus on the customer experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Python, Javascript, and preferably, experience with React.JS in creating visually appealing web products.
- Previous experience with Geospatial Data handling, related industry standard applications such as ArcGIS and/or GDAL
Additional desirable skills include:
- Understanding of publishing services to include Amazon Web Services
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, Terraform
- IT Customer relations experience
