Full Stack & Data Engineer

The Role

We are hiring a Full Stack & Data Engineer to help maintain and scale our core applications and contribute to the next wave of AI-enabled features. This is a hands-on role for someone who can move comfortably across the stack: designing APIs, building clean React UIs, managing AWS infrastructure, and integrating AI (LLMs, Computer Vision, Speech-to-Text) into our video survey pipeline.

What You’ll Do:

• Full Stack Feature Development: Build and maintain end-to-end product features across the frontend (React) and backend (Laravel).
• AI Integration: Collaborate on architecture for new AI-assisted workflows, integrating LLMs, computer vision, or audio processing into our video survey tools.
• API & Database Design: Design, implement, and version REST APIs. Improve database performance via schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
• Infrastructure & Reliability: Contribute to AWS infrastructure improvements (deployment, security posture, cost/performance tradeoffs) and ensure system reliability via caching, queueing, and background jobs.
• Code Quality: Write tests, improve code quality, and help enforce engineering standards through code reviews and documentation.

Core Requirements (Must-Have):

• GCP Infrastructure & BigQuery: Deep experience with Google Cloud Platform, specifically BigQuery Object Tables, Cloud Storage, and managing high-volume data architectures.
• Data Monetization & Sharing: Direct experience setting up BigQuery Analytics Hub or publishing data products to the Google Cloud Marketplace.
• ETL Pipelines for Unstructured Data: Ability to build high-throughput Extract-Transform-Load pipelines to process hundreds of TB of video data, extracting structured text, metadata, and timestamps into searchable SQL datasets.
• Data Privacy & Anonymization: Familiarity with implementing automated PII redaction (face blurring, audio masking) for video datasets prior to marketplace distribution.
• Backend (Laravel / PHP): Strong experience with Laravel (service architecture, queues, jobs, events, auth, API patterns, rate limiting, logging).
• Frontend (React): Experience building responsive, interactive UIs, comfort with state management patterns, and the ability to ship polished interfaces.
• AI Integration & LLMOps: Strong familiarity with integrating AI/LLMs into production. Must have experience with AI development practices, including prompt evaluation, regression testing for AI outputs, and safety/quality guardrails.
• Data & Vector Workflows: Hands-on experience with RAG architecture and working with vector databases to manage and query structured AI data.
• Python: Experience with Python for data processing, AI automation, and internal tooling.
• Database (MySQL): Strong skills in schema design, migrations, complex queries, and indexing strategies.
• Cloud (AWS): Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, IAM, VPC) and a solid understanding of scalable architecture.
• Systems Thinking: Solid understanding of networking: HTTP, TLS, auth flows, caching layers, and secure deployment patterns.
• High-Velocity & AI-Augmented: We expect our engineers to leverage modern AI development tools (e.g., Cursor, Copilot, LLMs) to maximize their engineering throughput, automate repetitive tasks, and effectively manage parallel workflows across multiple projects.

Bonus (Nice-to-Have):

• Video and Image Processing: Experience with pipelines for video compression, segmenting, or audio transcription (Speech-to-Text).
• Computer Vision: Experience with image recognition or object detection models.
