The Opportunity
The Senior User Interface Developer is responsible for maturing our User Interface development practice to deliver world-class SaaS product experiences to our users.
You are an accomplished UI craftsperson with an eye for great design and the technical expertise to create high-quality, performant, efficient code. Empathy for users and creating great experiences is core motivation for your work.
In this role, you will:
- Partner closely with the User Experience team to evolve the Florence Design System, creating UI libraries and standards for use by Front End developers to create a unified experience across our suite of applications
- Collaborate with UX to research, design, and develop new UI patterns
- Drive improvements to our existing applications, addressing issues of consistency, performance, outdated patterns, usability, accessibility, and more.
This role will report into the Development team, but oversight for your priorities and worktracks will be from User Experience and Product leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Establish and implement a unified User Interface code library for our growing suite of applications
- Serve as UI development thought leader, to mentor and guide developers on UI standards and best practices, and educate the wider organization about UI development
- Collaborate on strategic projects including platform/portfolio-level initiatives
- Propose processes to promote adherence to design standards and best practices, and partner with Product Owners and other to implement them
- Partner with QA to guide their UI-related work
- Identify and address UI-specific performance and quality issues and errors
- Serve as an end-user advocate within the Development team, aligning with UX and product on user success metrics such as error prevention, reduced support calls, and user satisfaction
- Serve as subject matter expert and lead the implementation strategy for accessibility, support for multiple languages, and related technologies
- Partner with UX and Product to create future concepts and prototypes
What You Bring
- Expert skill level in Angular
- Deep expertise in applied UI design for complex SaaS applications
- Expert in HTML, SCSS, and Bootstrap 3
- Creating and maintaining UI pattern libraries and design systems
- Experience planning and leading cross-team projects
- B2B/Enterprise experience
- Partnering with UX/Design teams and building from UX mockups
- Creating prototypes and proposing design alternatives
- Experience developing for Accessibility standards (ARIA, WCAG, etc.)
- Responsive web design
