Position overview:
Responsible for developing designing, maintaining, and supporting the Hyperion applications (HFM, FDM, Hyperion Planning, Essbase, DRM, etc.) and ensuring the integrity of the financial reporting applications. Lead other financial system administrators and manage projects across the Hyperion application suite. Act as liaison with information technology, corporate, and operations accounting departments to enhance the financial reporting and consolidation systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Supervises the performance and development of other financial system administrators, and manages the work of contracted workers and consultants.
- Manages system metadata, coordinates the execution of change management process related to metadata, and communicates metadata changes to end users. Provides support and direction on system-related issues to management and staff. Leads and manages the development and implementation of incremental system integrations.
- Supports the initial implementation of the Hyperion applications, support report builds, perform data reconciliation tests, and be responsible for the personnel training. Facilitates the further development and enhancement of the Hyperion tools to meet advancing user needs.
- Develops designs and maintains the Hyperion applications suite and the associated integration with other corporate and business financial systems. Supports the upload and processing of actual, forecast, and plan data to the Hyperion suite. Develops and maintains financial reports using Hyperion reports, Smartview Excel grids and other reporting tools.
- Maintains user security and manages change processes for user security in accordance with established protocols. Maintains and executes business rules, calculations, data copies, and moves. Proactively reviews and monitors the application and makes recommendations for design enhancements relative to ongoing best practices. Manages overall performance of the financial systems.
- Trains and supports users. Prepares and maintains user documentation and training materials. Assists with the enhancement of business processes and supports the business leaders with critical business strategies by managing the development, testing, and implementation of new business application systems.
- Provides assistance and backup throughout the close-to-report and planning/forecasting cycles to ensure system responsiveness and data integrity. Participates in projects to improve consolidation and reporting processes. Reviews or develops documentation supporting new or significantly changed system controls/financial reporting tools. Evaluates and identifies potential business and financial-reporting risks through participation in IT governance, change management, and gate review processes.
- Establishes policies and procedures for the overall financial data management of the Corporate FP&A financial systems. Performs data integrity analysis to ensure appropriateness of data uploads for all applicable financial systems.
- Works with legal and tax departments to ensure the legal entity structure is accurately setup and maintained. Develops, publishes, and maintains detailed organizational structure for legal entity and segment reporting. Reviews, documents, and maintains SOX controls related to the accounting system and develops appropriate SOX controls and documentation.
- Ensures accuracy of foreign currency reporting through appropriate system setup. Works directly with all foreign consolidating entities to ensure all accounts are translated in accordance with FAS 52.
Experience and skills required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or IT
- Job related experience within accounting and IT
- Experience with HFM application
- Strong working knowledge of Generally accepted accounting principles and consolidation accounting; Relational database concepts; System security and data governance processes; FP&A
- Project Management experience desirable
- Data integration and automation tools experience
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in written and oral English
