Database Support Engineer (MSSQL DBA)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor the system performance to ensure that the system has enough resources to continue to process production traffic
• Maintain database security and patches; install databases and application packages
• Business as Usual Tasks based only on database area
• Interaction with customer and internal technical management?
• Provide solutions for database issues including capacity, redundancy, replication, and performance
• There may be a requirement to provide support as part of the 24x7 out of hour's ROTA

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Database Administration skills on MSSQL, other database technologies would be a plus (MySQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
• Must have some understanding of features like Replication / Disaster Recovery tools
• Must be familiar with the concept of database backup and restore methodologies
• Some database development skills desired
• Knowledge of database architecture and modeling
• Candidate should be a quick learner
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
