We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Administration and maintenance of Oracle Database systems in production and non-production environments
• Installation, configuration, patching, and upgrading of Oracle databases
• Monitoring database performance and availability and promptly resolving issues
• Database and SQL query performance tuning
• Managing backup and recovery procedures
• Planning and implementing High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions
• Working with Oracle Data Guard, RAC, and other Oracle technologies for high availability and business continuity
• Managing users, privileges, security policies, and access control
• Analyzing and resolving complex database issues
• Automating routine DBA activities using scripts and appropriate tools
• Collaborating with system administrators, network and security teams, developers, and other IT teams
• Participating in database migration, consolidation, and infrastructure improvement projects
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation and operational procedures
• Participating in capacity planning, architecture, and future development of the database platform

What We Expect from the Candidate

We are looking for someone who can independently take ownership of the database platform's operation, while also collaborating with other IT teams on complex projects.

From a Senior DBA, we expect the ability to:

• propose improvements to architecture and performance
• participate in defining technical standards and procedures
• identify potential issues before they impact production
• mentor less experienced team members

Requirements

Required Experience and Knowledge

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with significant experience in Oracle databases
• Advanced knowledge of the Oracle Database platform
• Experience with Oracle administration in large and critical production environments
• Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
• Experience with backup/recovery technologies, particularly RMAN
• Experience with Oracle Data Guard
• Experience with Oracle RAC (significant advantage)
• Solid understanding of database performance tuning
• Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems
• Knowledge of HA, DR, backup, and disaster recovery concepts and procedures
• Experience working with monitoring and management tools
• Ability to analyze complex problems and independently find solutions
• Good command of English

Additional Assets

• Oracle certification (OCP or equivalent)
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager
• Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard environments
• Experience with large databases and demanding OLTP systems
• Experience with Oracle database migrations and upgrades
• Knowledge of other relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or MySQL
• Experience with cloud database platforms (advantage)
• Experience with automation and scripting (Bash, Python, or similar)
